As part of Open Space's foyer programming, Elder Gerry Ambers was asked to reimagine her poetry into an installation. Letters From Star Child and Animal Break opened during the Contemplating Change exhibition.

I had a fantastic time working with and curating Gerry Ambers’ work in this stairwell installation. The work opened as part of Contemplating Change but remained up for a year. I had approached Gerry because I was interested in working with her in some capacity but we both weren’t exactly sure how it would look. After viewing some of Gerry’s journals and seeing a combination of both text and symbols, I pitched the idea of a vinyl installation that would amplify the work. Gerry was into the idea and we went from there!
